Robert L. Lynch: Stock

Journal Entry: Wed Feb 13, 2008, 3:06 PM
Hello, this is Robert, the same guy from here: [link] now with a stock account. I take a lot of pictures in addition to the ones I post on my art account, but usually, I don't think they're really strong enough to stand on their own as art. But technically, they're good shots; that's why I opened this account. I think that in the hands of people with a lot of creativity and talent, they could be a part of something much better. The images I will post here are free for your inspiration and use in compositions.

So anyways, I'm looking forward to seeing what you can do with my photos, but first I've got to lay down the ground rules:

For me, "I hereby grant all DeviantArtists permission to use my stock in any and all deviations and Deviant Prints without restriction." That means you may use these images as you see fit except as follows:

Rule 1 - Do not take these images and try to pass hem off as your own, and do not take them and upload them to a pay site. Firstly, that's disrespectful to me, it's disrespectful to any models I may be featuring, and if you do, you'll probably be getting a DMCA request from me, and potentially a lawsuit. These images are for photocompositors and artists; they are not to be used as content in and of themselves.

Rule 2 - Do not use these images for any commercial use (outside of Deviant Prints). This refers to stuff like book covers, magazine ads, billboards, commercially distributed posters, and similar works. If it's something like a picture you make for a school art show and you sell it there, that's fine, but don't put it on anything I'd be likely to see on a 50 foot sign.

Rule 3 - Be considerate of any models that may appear in my stock. They are real people with feelings. Think of how you would feel if your picture was in what you were making. If it's Neo-Nazi propaganda, or an ad for STD screening, they might be offended.

Rule 4 - Most of these images are completely raw shots, so you'll have to fix dust spots, skin blemishes, and the like yourself. Show pride in your work by making it look good.

Rule 5 - Note me if you use an image, and give me a link. I think it's great that you like the image enough to use it, so I'd like to see what you've done!

Rule 6 - If you use an image with a model, I'll likely send them a link, and they may want to use it in their personal portfolios. If you have a problem with that, let me know.

Rule 7 - Feel free to post works based on my stock in places other than DA (personal websites, contests, etc...), but maintain a credit to me where appropriate.

Sidenote, if you only use my stock as a visual reference for traditional art (poses for comic book panels, figure drawing studies, etc...) you don't need to credit me, but it is still appreciated.

Now, go have fun! Make some great art!

The EOS Rebel can be very easy to use.

You can get some decent results by setting the camera on full-auto and letting the it do all the work; but it still lets you take total control on the advanced settings.
